Happiness

Happiness. One of the most complicated words I know. One with great meanings which i know none of. What is happiness? How do you know whether you're happy or not? Is there a measure of happiness? A happiness-meter maybe? Questions I do not know the answers to, questions with no answers, perhaps. People tend to use the words: Happiness, Sadness, Love and Hate quite often. Those 4 words, in particular, are practically illusions to me. However, words like: Success, Achievements and Accomplishments, are simple words that can be easily defined and attained by taking the hard work road. Maybe that is what life is all about, primary targets such as success and secondary ones, like happiness or love, you find them along with the primary ones.

Time

Seconds to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days. Days become weeks and weeks become months. Before we know it, months turn into years. The years in our lives are ahead of us and we're striving to keep the life in our years up with them, every minute we're 60 seconds older. Time's going by faster than light and we're too busy growing older in stead of growing wiser. 18 years have already gone by. Eighteen wonderful years, full of joy and grief. Success and failure. Honor and shame. Love and forgiveness. Who knows how many years are left to come? Only Allah does. One thing I know for sure, I couldn't be more grateful for the ones already gone. Maybe I am ahead of my years, or maybe I am not. My words may be stronger than my actions, but maybe I haven't used the strength of my words properly, just yet. A fool blabbering may I be. But, a fool pouring his soul I certainly am.

Old is Gold

In my eyes, life was a lot simpler back in the time and it keeps getting more and more complicated by the day. Life's beauty is strongly related to its simplicity; the simpler it is, the less worried you are and the easier one's satisfaction and happiness are reached. On the other hand, complication leads to problems, confusion and difficulties. Sophistication troubles the human soul. If only I had the opportunity to go back in time. Any time between 1900 and 2000, I think I would have loved this era. An era that witnessed two major wars, two of the greatest, most violent wars in the history of mankind. An era in which the nuclear power was discovered and brutally used in mass destruction. Despite all that, this era gave us so much to remember. Inventions such as the Internet, the Television, the Mobile phones. Taught us great lessons and important values in life in many different ways. One hundred years that produced great writers, thinkers, inventors, leaders and even musicians, artists, and athletes Just to name a few: Albert Einstein, Antoine De Sainte-Exupéry, Adolf Hitler, Ernest Hemingway, Elvis Presly, Pablo Picasso, Malcom X, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Mark Twain, Pélé, Maradona, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson. In my humble opinion, that was a golden age. The astonishing thing is, none of all those great events influenced people's general behavior negatively. Despite major wars people were still good to each other. Their Lives weren't complicated. Life was simple, calm and beautiful. We, nowadays, find ourselves surrounded by sophistication everywhere, all the time. Social relationships are complicated, careers are complicated, life is complicated. I find myself obligated to simplify all that to live the life I dream of. To live a simple beautiful calm life. Peace of mind, gratitude and happiness are what I strive for and, hopefully, will attain someday. Hopefully.

When it all started.

Sitting in my chair observing the light blue sky and the folding red sun falling into its horizon. Watching the unbelievable number of hideous tall buildings, wishing and hoping to go across the sea and see a whole different new world with a different way of living. But, the massive number of obstacles is still in front of me not making me able to see beyond the sea. But with the spirit of a lion, ambitious and brave, I'll be still trying to do what my heart requires and head to the west and try with all my power to be the best to make myself, my family, my country and the people who believed in me proud of who I am. Only then my soul could rest in peace.


Living on the Mediterranean coast, in the beautiful calm Alexandria, has always been one of the main sources to my ambitions and dreams. Just looking at this vast area of water ending at the horizon and wondering what's on the other side; how different and interesting life could be over there, thus motivating and encouraging me to do whatever it takes to fulfill this dream of mine that may seem far away. Too far away. However, I shall never stop dreaming nor stop chasing those dreams of mine.


I have also learned that the world is a wonderful balanced place. Every human being in it has its role. There's absolutely no difference between two men; one was born a President's son and the other was born a Farmer's, they both have their role in this society that if they don't do perfectly the whole "In Perfect Harmony" system will collapse. You just have to figure out your own role in this life and try as hard as you can to do it to perfection, only then you'll feel like you belong where you are and feel the harmony between yourself and the people around you.


Live life and love it. Have faith in god, be grateful for what you have and never complain. Dream big and have huge ambitions. Follow your heart; those dreams and ambitions, and never let go of them no matter what. Never let anyone stand your way. Take risks, have an adventurous soul. Be confident, have self-respect and pride. Be proud of who you are and never underestimate yourself. Take your own decisions at your own responsibility, think wisely before taking them and never regret anything. Don't rely on people too much, because the truth is, they'll probably let you down most of the time. Choose your friends carefully and never relinquish them.
